Another great week of entries and another tough week to decide. We had a THREE way tie in the fics for second. That is so cool. :)

As always, if there are mistakes, please let me know. I have no problem remaking stuff if I made a boo-boo.

Characters: Giles, Xander, Andrew, Buffy, Willow, Dawn.
A/N: I said I'd write a fic to go with that animated icon I made, so I did. It could be better, but it could also be worse. And yes, I already know I suck at titles, you don't have to tell me.

[identity profile] xlivvielockex.livejournal.com
I have NO idea how you guys are going to decide the winners this week. Really, I don't. So many great fics, so many great icons. I am always impressed with everyone in this community.

If I forgot anyone, please let me know ASAP!

A/N Not up for voting. As some of you know, I've lived in about half a dozen cities all over the world. They are all "my town" so I just picked the one I am in right now. It's more fun that way. LOL (Bonus points to whoever knows what song the title and cut text are from!)

Mine were everywhere... I needed to consolidate...

The first time I'd ever heard of Northampton was in The Advocate, a gay magazine, in an article proclaiming it the lesbian Mecca. I never dreamed that two years after reading that article I'd be going to college in that town.

And a nod to my wonderful, wonderful all women's college!

.
A nod to the Smith Sci Fi Fantasy Club who had a giant Insert Hellmouth Here sign outside of the library in the beginning of the year.

Lastly, the Northampton Motto is Caring, Education, Justice or in latin...

This final one doesn't really count but anyways In honor of Sarah Michelle Gellar's role as part of the Scooby Doo Scoobies, a big urban legend in Massachusetts. The legend goes that each member of the Scooby Doo Scoobies is based on the stereotype of one of the college in the Five College Consortium.

The full description of the legend is in my journal

WOW! Amazing work, lots of ties this week. We had so many great entries this week that Sarah and I had an impossible time picking the mod fic. We ended up, I kid you not, flipping a coin between the three remaining authors because they were all so great! LOL We didn't do a mod icon only because everyone who entered won something this week.

As always, if there are mistakes, please let me know.

Those are lyrics from a song that was a hit here back in the summer of '02 that popularized the practice of referring to Toronto (TO for short) as "the t-dot." I always thought it was pretty lame, but Gunn makes it cool.

Can we post animated icons?

Third largest library in North America, ugliest library in the world.
It's supposed to look like a peacock. Honestly. Why they would (a) want a library to look like a peacock, and (b) decide that prefab concrete is the best way to render a peacock in architectural form is beyond me. I take solace in the fact that when designing the foundations of Robarts, the engineers forgot to take into account that its fourteen stories would be filled with books. Hence, it is slowly sinking into the ground.

ETA: an icon of Giles hangin' at my College:
Just 'cause I think it would be cool if he did.
Damn the dissenters! Hurrah for old Trinity!

And also of the Fang Gang outside City Hall:
<- This is kinda an in-joke. Like all of Canada, living next to the USA has given Toronto an inferiority complex. We're always reiterating that we're a "world-class" city.
We're right up there with New York! Really!
