still_grrrWe have a couple of announcements, like usual. A rule change, a new contest, and some general modly things.
First off, after polling the members of this community, it is clear that the majority would like us to include fanart submissions in the challenges. So, guess what, we are. And it is going to be tied in with a special prize to be given at the end of July.
Fanart submissions will begin starting with Prompt 016. Just so that we can start it on a new month, a new round. The rules for fanart are pretty similar to those of icons and fic, and are as follows:
Fanart
1. Fanart includes but is not limited to: Wallpapers, blends, manips, ficpics, etc. Basically, anything that is not an icon. Participants may set their own standards.
2. Fanart must be posted within the community (no fake cuts to personal journals) and must be under a cut. Header (below) must be above the cut.
3. All fanart kinds are allowed: textless, animated, blended, etc.
4. Participants can enter up to 10 entries within the one week time frame.
5. Artists, please respond to any feedback left on your art.
6. Fanart must be thumbnailed and must lead to a larger version of the art.
7. Caps will be provided but participants are encourage to find their own caps as well. We will mostly be taking them Screencap Paradise.
8. Artists must use the following header for all art. ART MUST HAVE A TITLE. Even if it is something as simple as "Spike Manipulation".
9. As with all submissions, we do not allow anything that is NC-17, has rape or non-con depictions, and/or features an incest pairing.
10. For the months of June and July, please include who referred you to this community in your header. You only need to do this on your first submission.
Now, why are we asking for who referred you? Because the person that gets the most fanartists here by the end of July will get a very special prize for helping to pimp out and get more members to the community. I won't say what it is, but I think the winner will enjoy it. So make sure that if you tell your friends we are doing fanart, they put your name in their first post.
The last little announcement is that prompts 017 and prompts 018 will be going up right after the voting is posted. I will be gone from Friday-Monday for these two weeks for work. So everyone gets to see things a couple of hours early.
And just a quick little thing too. We want to maintain the level of support in this community. We think we have a pretty good reputation. So when you leave feedback for someone, make sure that you point out the positives as well as the negatives. My suggestion is to use the sandwich approach of two good things sandwiched around something negative. We want people to be getting CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, not just criticism. And there is something good that can be found in every single piece on this community. Just keep that in mind. We want people to improve, of course, but if you are here just to point out what they did wrong, maybe this isn't the right place for you.
