There hadn’t been a funeral. It’s not as if Lilah had enjoyed a lively social circle. She pretty much knew lawyers and evil things (pardon the redundancy), and with Wolfram and Hart getting demolished by the beast, and the impending apocalypse, who would have attended? Besides, most of the funeral directors had left town.

 

Wesley finally allowed himself his own farewell ritual. He sat in his shiny new office with a half-empty bottle of Johnny Walker. He lit a candle and muttered a short prayer to a god he didn’t believe in. But he wasn’t sure what he was mourning.
