Prompt 017: Icons

Here are some icons, wanted to get them done before Doc's appointment.
There are obviously of Book and I am hoping to catch up with everyone else stuff and post comments when i get home.

On with the show. As you can see I am playing with different fonts LOL.

Ok were since you helped me with my writing I will help you with yours. So forgive me if this is long winded. You have been of great help to me, and I want to pay you back for what you've done for me.

First of all the text fits the icon. Meaning you have a nice choice of coloring and style along with the words used. Now what it appears to be in all is you went with an idea and added the text. A good base to work with since you icon seems to revolve around that text. The placement isn't. Each stroke that is used in lettering is as important as a a stroke of the brush on a painting. The placement of will work for or against the piece even if it is the main attraction. For example the Save me one.

The lettering it is placed big and bold and you have no idea what else is going on. You see Book's face looking somewhere and you see a portion of his face. The positioning of the face you don't really see the expression on the face. You see some but it could be of him going wow that is a large track of land, or I have a chicken dancing on my head. He could be saying Save me, you could of done a better job.

For example your first one you did a good job of the placement of the text and made the stretch out Book work. I would of said that the cropping would be bad, but because of the placement of the text as well as the choice you made it work. I personally would of brought up the now a bit more, but the long look conveys the wanting to die.

The third one I can see that the cropping of it a whole lot better then the placing of the lettering. What it looks like the deal is you had it as one text box on one layer. When working with text I suggest you do is have a layer for each word. It may be little more work to do, but it makes it easier for moving letters around. A good idea, a bit too busy for my taste but overall good.

Other then the second one any flaws the icon you had you made it work. That there were is a rate thing to do more then once. This thing is nice, and was the deal with your cheerleader one. It had errors, but you had it work for the icon. This seems to be you talent man. That even when you screw up for the most part you make it work.

Now overall my opion is you are improving, but if you hate anything I said remember I am a baka-san, a honorable idiot. So my words have the weight of air in gold.

I like the way the cropping of the first two brings the focus to his eyes.
The third one has a nice serenity (ha!-pun unintended) to it

I really like the cropping that you did on all of these. It is really interesting. I like the way you focused it too on portions of his face. I like the last one too. My only bit of issue is that it is really dark on Book. Maybe just lightened him up, it would be perfect.

I am glad you liked em and well the text on the last one seemed to go perfectly with Book for obvious reasons.

Hopefully this weeks prompt will be better, well am hoping.
