Re: voting rules

Sorry for choosing the wrong place for the comment - I just thought I should do it while I had the thought.

It's pretty irrelevant to me, personally, as I rarely keep up with the prompts well enough to get something in before there is a new prompt. LOL I was thinking more along the lines of a close contest for first place and a writer losing by one vote because he/she couldn't vote for his/her own fic when it was really worthy. It wasn't a personal complaint at all, I just don't recall seeing any other communities that were quite so adamant about it and I thought I'd mention it.

I agree that there have been very few winners that weren't genuinely deserving - the overall quality of the entries is always very high - I just know that when I am voting in communities I always look for the one I feel is the very best. More often than not, it is not mine and that's the way I vote. But once in a very great while, I really like my entry and am not knocked out by any of the others and it is nice to have the freedom to vote for yourself.

But, as I said, it's not really a complaint, just a suggestion. I doesn't matter to me, personally, one way or the other.
