A/N: Companion Piece to ( I Can't Feel A Thing ) and a story I'm writing with
shinodabear“You’re gonna wait here, ‘til I come back for you.” Lindsey said, his hands firmly on Eve’s shoulders. “I don’t want you getting caught in the crossfire.”
She shook her head. “Maybe this really is a bad idea, Lindsey. Maybe we should just leave. No one would know.”
A firm hand tucked a lock a blonde hair behind Eve’s ear. “I’m in this for the long haul- honor, humanity… and some other stuff Angel said, mostly- I’m not that into the idea of the apocalypse.”
Her tiny hands gripped his shirt as she buried her face against his chest. “You can’t go. If you go, you won’t come back… and if the world doesn’t end I’ll be alone. Lindsey, I can’t do this alone.”
Guiding her away, he captured her eyes with his own gaze. “You can live without me. You can-”
Whatever she could was cut off by an abrupt knock at the door issued by a green empath demon. “Look, I gotta get gone.” He said planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
“No, Lindsey! You can’t! There’s something I have to tell you.” Eve said, gripping his shirt tighter as he turned away. “I’m-”
A kiss on the lips. “You can tell me when I get back. Because I am coming back, if you tell me what you need to tell me, I’ll definitely die. Now I got even more to come back to.”
He didn’t see the grimace on the demon’s face. It had melted before he turned to leave the room. Watching until he was out of sight, Eve sat down on the couch and pulled the positive pregnancy test out of her bag, turning it over in her hands.
She waited.
