It’s all politics

“Never go for the kill when you can go for the pain.” He’d watched closely and been extremely pleased at the results of his actions and words. Anyanka had been rightly horrified, the others impressed and, at the end of a busy day, Halfrek was gone for good.
D’Hoffryn went home, well satisfied with his day’s work. Having demons around who were eager for him to retire so they could take over his position made him irritable and prone to making bad decisions. In-fighting for promotion – he sighed. It was the curse of the modern world.
