Character: Eve, Harmony

Smoothing out her skirt, Eve looked at her reflection in the metal of the elevator doors, smoothing away any signs of what her activities at lunch were. The last thing anyone needed to know was that she was not only plotting against the new CEO but she was doing it along side one of Angel’s enemies – Lindsey.

A small smile crossed her lips as she sauntered out of the elevator as the door’s opened, heading towards Wesley’s office to give him the newest relic to keep them all busy. Busy work was the best thing for them; it kept them busy too busy to notice all the little things in the office that were slowly twisting it’s wheels against the crew.

“Oh my God, Eve! Hey!” Stopping short, Eve turned to see Harmony coming towards her; before she could react she found the blonde vampire’s arms around her like a vice grip. The scent of Channel No.5 and pig’s blood invaded Eve’s nose.

“Harmony,” Eve’s tone was flat as she pried herself out from the arms of the other woman’s obviously imposter designer suit. “What’s going on?” She eyed Harmony suspiciously before looking down and adjusting her clothes again.

Harmony tossed her hair over her shoulder and smiled down at the shorter girl. “Nothing…ok, well there’s this like party thing I heard the girls on the eighth floor talking about and I thought we could like go or something.” Eve blinked in response, shifting the relic in her hand and looking at Harmony as if the vampire had lost her mind. “C’mon Eve, everyone else here is with someone. Hell, Fred has two men pining after her. Single gals like us really need to stick together.”

She started to pout and twirled her hair, waiting for Eve to respond. “I’m not…” Eve started, pausing to come up with some excuse that the blonde would take without further questioning. “I’m the liaison; I’m not allowed to…socialize with anyone aside from Angel and…”

“Oh I see how it is. You big meanie!” Harmony cut her off as she crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head. “Just because you’re some company big wig doesn’t mean that I’m like beneath you or something?!” Eve watched as Harmony turned on her heel and stalked back to her desk, sulking and sipping blood out of her hot pink thermos.

Eve sighed and shook her head, smoothing out her blazer and heading towards Wesley’s office. Her hand felt something wet and she looked down at her fingers. “What…” she sighed at the sight of blood and changed direction to head into the nearest bathroom. “Figure I’d wear something light for a change and Harmony decides to use a seven-hundred dollar suit as a napkin.”

Setting the stone relic down, she pulled a towel from the counter and wet it slightly, using slow movements to wipe the blood from her jacket. Eve opened the buttons and sighed in frustration when she noticed more blood had seeped onto her silk blouse, annoying her even further.

Her eyes fell upon the blood on her hands and she stopped. She examined her palm carefully, bringing her hand closer to her face before she started rubbing her thumb against the pads of her index and middle fingers, feeling the blood slip between her fingers. The coolness of the liquid was a sharp contrast from the warmth of her skin.

Eve tried to remember the last time she had blood on her hands and it took her a moment to realize that she never has. Lindsey’s overly careful when he goes out hunting to keep his skills up and has only come back to their place with a few minor cuts that were long since taken care of. She was also kept away from Wesley or any of the other members of Angel’s crew when a spell was being performed. She knew she was sheltered in that way, made of something mystical and ancient, yet had never had blood on her hands…

There was a noise outside the door that caused Eve to stop for a moment, turning quickly to see if anyone was coming in. Nobody entered and she turned back to the task of cleaning herself up; deciding that inspite of her job that she didn’t like the feel of blood against her fingers.
