Dawn was so angry she could hardly stand it. Buffy kept saying to stop acting childish, that Tara wasn’t far away and why didn’t she just call her? But Dawn didn’t want to. She was too mad. How could she just leave like that? Buffy kept saying not to take it personally; it wasn’t about them, it was about Tara and Willow, and they would work it out eventually. Don’t worry, Dawn, she kept saying.

 

But, as these things always went, the anger morphed into sadness and started cautiously toward acceptance.
