“Can I have one too?”
Casey’s fifteen and technically shouldn’t be drinking beer, but Faith slides a bottle along the table towards her, opens her own, and takes several long, silent sips.

Just as Vi’s about to ask, she looks up and says, “My Watcher’s dead.”

“What? Giles-” Vi starts to stand.

“Nah. Giles is B’s Watcher. Mine was…” Faith’s eyes are far away. “Mine was stuffy, pretentious, bossy… controlling… wicked good with a shotgun… badass… sexy as hell…” She trails off.

“And he died?”

“Yeah.” Another long drink. “Went out fighting, at least. That’s something.”

Vi nods, remembering too.

awww :( I hated season 5 for destroying two of my fave characters.

I still refuse to say he's dead myself. Or that he won't come back somehow. I just didn't like the comics bringing him back as the Senior Parnter's slave or whatever.

Faith had bad luck with Watchers, which no doubt contributed to the hard time she had. Just imagine how it might've gone if she'd got a fully seasoned Wesley right from the start. Rowr! *fans self*

However, their story is one of bad timing, among other bad things. This drabble makes it clear that she's feeling them all. *sniff*
