Title: From The Desk of Jenny Calendar
Author:

Rating: PG
Word Count: 204
Prompt: 186 (pencil, desk, apple, test)
Characters/Pairing: inanimate object
Everything changes, nothing stays the same. Not even for inanimate objects that shouldn't know or care what happened to the previous owner.
Although, for some reason, this one was different. It knew everything about her. Like where she kept the answers to her tests hidden and the exact location of the corkscrew that she'd dangled from her....body part. It also knew her secrets, who she was and what she was really doing in Sunnydale, and the thing that she didn’t want anyone to know about until she was finished.
It even knew that something had scared her and she’d left. What it didn’t know was why she wasn’t here. She was always here. Surely any minute she would walk through the door and lay a stack of papers down on top of it and get started with the class.
Something was all wrong. Someone new was here but she didn’t belong.
It wanted to scream with indignation as the redhead sat behind it and fingered through the folders left on it’s top. But of course it couldn’t. It was just an inanimate object with no thoughts or feelings.
But if that was true then why did it hurt so badly that she wasn’t here?
