A/N: The monks took a slightly different approach when they created Dawn.
Buffy scooped up eighteen month old Dawn in one hand and the diaper bag in the other.
“Have you got everything?” Joyce asked. “Call me if you need anything. Or have any questions. Or Dawn gets sick. Or...”
“I'm pretty sure I can handle it mom. So what will you two crazy kids be up to while we're gone?” Buffy asked.
“Rupert has some research he needs to catch up on. You know, if it's not one apocalypse it's another. And I'm going to take a nice long bubble bath. And then maybe a nap. Thanks for taking Dawn sweetie. That's the best Mother's Day present anyone could give me.”
“Wave bye bye Dawn. Blow kisses to mommy” Buffy said. “Okay ride's here. We'll see you in a couple of hours.”
Joyce closed the door behind Buffy and locked it, then called up the stairs. “They're finally gone.”
Giles sauntered down the stairs a moment later, dressed in a white tee shirt, tight jeans and work boots. “So when are your parents coming home Joyce?” he said.
Joyce smiled. “Don't worry about them, they won't be home for hours.”
“Good.” He grabbed Joyce and pulled her close to give her a long hard kiss. “Let's shag in their bed.” he whispered in her ear.
Joyce giggled. “Ooh Ripper you're so bad”.
