It didn’t matter where she went. It always happened.

She thought Sunnydale would be different, that she wouldn’t be the loner with no friends for the zillionth time. After all, B was just like her, a Slayer. For once Faith had something in common with someone, a shared bond.

But B pushed her away like all the others.

She told herself it was no big deal, that it didn’t bother her. She didn’t need anyone, never had.

People never did anything but fuck you over in the end anyway. So this time, Faith was going to fuck them over first.

The moment where Buffy lied to Faith about Angel always struck me as the pivotal moment for her character for exactly this reason. Nice job.

Thanks. I've always thought Faith was such a sympathetic character, partly due to her isolation from the group.
