Prompt 017: Lilah, Kendra, Book
Characters/Pairing (if any): All original characters: Richard Monroe, Bertie Glasgow

"She's WHERE?" The business suited man, Richard Monroe, was sporting a red tie and the tie was quickly matching his face.

A meek-looking man, Bertie Glasgow, clutched his clipboard tighter stepped back, his voice now softer than before. "Heaven?"

"How did this happen? She signed a contract... she was ours."

The man flipped through some papers quickly. "Apparently she signed another one right before her death."

"Another one?!" Richard rose out of his chair and slammed his palm hard on the desk in front of him. "This is not happening. The Senior Partners will be very, very upset. Who had the authority to overwrite the power of Wolfram and Hart?"

"The contract vetoed all others, and the cosigner was," There was more paper shuffling as Bertie looked for the information. He paused on on page and his face turned white. "Lilah Morgan's cosigner was... Jesus."

"No need for that sort of language man, who was the cosigner?" Richard started to step around the desk and snatch the papers out of Bertie's hand.

"No Sir, I wasn't. I really meant the cosigner was Jesus."

Richard paused. "You mean..."

"Yes."

"Then who is going to talk to Angel and his gang of ragtag dogooders about owning the LA office?" Richard pointed his finger menacingly in Bertie's face. "And who is gonna take the blame for such an oversight?!"

Bertie gulped, remembering the last scapegoat that Richard had sacrificed on the alter of the Senior Partners. "I...I kind of know this demon.."

Richard interrupted him with a low laugh. "Who doesn't know demons in this business?"

"W-w-well what I meant Sir, is I know this shape-shifter demon, who could pretend to be Lilah."

Tapping a finger to his lips in thought Richard grew a low, slow smile. "I like it. Best idea I ever had."

Oh yes, the last minute reprieve by the big J-man. LOL Hey, if prisoners on death row can do it, why not Lilah. I love how you managed to twist Home without actually changing the events. Very funny piece.

Yep, what they said. Absolutely brilliant!

(Psst. Watch your apostrophes - "demons" doesn't need one. Sorry, I'm a punctuation freak.)
