Prompt 019
Character Jubal Early
There I am
Yet I'm here, looking down at myself.
Does that seem right?
Which one is me: the one that can see or the one that can be seen?
One has no form and the other no consciousness, so perhaps neither are who I was, and both are now something else.
So what am I?
Or should I ask what are we?
Do two halves form a singular or a plural?
And perhaps more importantly, what happens now?
I suppose the corporeal part of me will start to decay, becoming something else yet again.
And the incorporeal part?
Does it go on forever?
Does it stay the same, continue to evolve, devolve, or melt away completely?
When Mama turned me from home, she said she feared I'd end up burning in Hell.
Yet I feel no heat...
nor cold neither.
I feel nothing...
except confusion.
Does that seem right?

And Jubal is definitely unique...thank goodness.
