Buffy found the note on the floor of his crypt, crumpled and riddled with dust. She didn’t know why she hadn’t seen it before. Why Clem hadn’t seen it before. But now that she’d found it, she wished like hell she could erase it.

His brief words burned into her mind. Their desolate tone doing nothing to ease the ache within her chest.

She missed him. She didn’t want to. Didn’t plan to really. But the feeling was there. Inside her. Whenever she thought about him. And as much as she’d like to deny it, she thought about him a lot. More than she should. More than she wanted. More than she needed.

He hurt her, yes. And what he did, what he tried to do…that wasn’t something she could forget. Ever. But he wasn’t alone in it. He wasn’t a monster for it. Not really.

She glanced down at the letter in her hands, the moisture in her eyes blurring his hasty scrawl.

Spike thought she wouldn’t understand. That she wouldn’t get it. But she did. Oh, how she did. She knew why it happened. She knew why he snapped. It didn’t make it okay. But she got it. She knew.

He reached his limit. He lost control. Because of her. Her…abuse.

She shut her eyelids, screwing them closed tight, and dropped into his favorite chair, the paper tumbling from her fingers back onto the ground.

Oh God. What have I done?”

Interesting take on Buffy's pov at that point. You did a good job of ballancing the wrongness of what he did with the part Buffy did play in it.
