"Bloody hell Mate." Says Angel flippidy. "All these years William. What haven't we seen...yet?"
Spike scoffs, "Nothing that I can think of. I wager we've seen just about everything, several times over even!"
"Why, then am I not satisfied?" Angel mused aloud. He put his face in his large hands and uttered sounds that to Spike were either a sob or a cynical laugh.
"You OK, brother?" Spike asked with concern.
"Hell. I don't know." Angel turned to face Spike. "I feel so haunted. I've killed, you've killed. Both for the good and for the bad."
Spike grinned at him. "And you want to know why we are still here, while so many folks we loved or cared about are gone, am I right?"
"Who do you miss the most Spike?" asked Angel.
Spike smiled broadly and answered without any hesitation. "Buffy's Mum, Joyce. Sure, at first she tried to hack me up with an axe. But she seemed to see the good in me. She wasn't crazy about my being a Vamp, but hell. She accepted it, she accepted me. I'm going to miss that. She was a right good lady."
Angel nodded. "You're right. She was one of the good gu-- girls." A single tear formed at the corner of his eye and he wiped it away.
"Well," countered who do you miss most?"
Angel's eyes raised to the ceiling. "I can't even begin to narrow it down... Nope, there isn't one person I miss the most. I miss a lot of them.
"Well." Spike added I do know who I most regret killing."
"And, who would that be?" Angel urged him on.
Spike shook his head sadly before he answered. "Nikki Wood. Her little son had to witness that shit! And he grew up hating me. Wanted to kill me he did, and I can't say as I blame the fellow."
"I guess we'll always be haunted by our evil deeds then eh?" Angel said to his friend.
"I can't see any way out of it, no. We just have to try to move on. Fight the good fight, and make up for our past as best we can." Spike reckoned. He stood and held his hand out to Angel. "Common, mate. We have that meeting with Giles. The new Council is opening, and there are new slayers to train. I don't want us to be late."
"Another day another apocalypse 'eh Spike?"

Date: 2007-07-23 04:41 pm (UTC)I don't know of any good british slang sites, but what I find helpful for writing Spike or any other characters whose voices are challenging me is to go to the Buffyverse Data Base (http://www.vrya.net/bdb/index.php) and do a character search and then read a bunch of their dialog until it's in my head.
