026: What Might Have Been

Title: What Might Have Been
Author: sl_pocast (Tabitha Smith)
Rating: G
Word Count: 135
Prompt: 026: FF: TRASH/THE MESSAGE
Characters: Mal, Inara, Wash, River, Simon, YoSaffBridge

The teasing hadn't stopped, but Mal ignored it. There just wasn't words to describe how happy he had been sitting on that rock. Even if he had been naked.

As always Wash was the best at the teasing. His one liners had even the normal-uptight Simon stifling laughter. River's comments were just... odd. What weirded Mal out more was that he understood most of them.

Inara just rolled her eyes. She gave Mal those looks that a big sister gives her crazy younger brother.

It didn't bother Mal, until night. At night he remembered the tender moments with... whatever her name is. He caught a glimpse of what she could be - even if it wasn't real. Because of that Mal played "what might have been.." until he fell asleep.

Nice little piece. I like the way you bring in the crew's reactions. They certainly sound right. I wonder what Kaylee and Jayne thought.

Haha great line.

LOL! That just sounds so fitting.
