Prompt 039 Voting

Since there was a really close run last week on our question about combining the fiction categories, I wanted to see how the community felt about an idea that maharet83 proposed. We are asking these questions because we haven't had enough long fic coming in to justify judging. And when we did the survey a few months ago, people were really excited about having the fic maximum extended. I just hate for people to write one long fic a week and it isn't even up for any sort of award.

I said no last week because I didn't think it was fair that a drabble be judged against a 2000 word fic, but giving true drabbles a category of their own works well.

Huh. I'm sure I posted my icons a few days ago, but they're apparantly not around. Were they rejected for some reason?

I haven't rejected anything, I haven't been online. I've sent an email to Laura and Sarah asking them. When we reject a post, you should get an email (whatever email your reply notifications are sent to) that tells you why it was rejected.

Once I hear back from them, I will get back to you. But if you are getting replies in your email and didn't a rejection, I would say maybe you forgot to post them or posted them to the wrong community? We've had that happen a couple of times.

My email's wonky when it comes to LJ, but it's no biggie. Not like I was gonna win anything, my icons were kinda uggoes this week ;p

I know I posted them here though, since I was in here when I did.

I just remembered what happened. When Kelly asked me I said I didn't reject any icons because I didn't but I just remembered that there was a set of icons last week or the week before where the coding didn't work and I sent a rejection letting the person know they just needed to fix the html code and resubmit them. Honestly I don't remember if they were yours or not, but it could have been.

I agree that it's not fair to have really short fics (<500 words) competing against long ones. I know people said they were really excited to write fics longer than 1000 words, but there haven't been many actually written. I kind of liked it when the limit was 1000 - it's fairer to put it all back in one category then.
