He remembered New Orleans.
Dru loved the beads and the colors and the chaos. She squealed at the drunken girls that so freely exposed themselves to the cool air. And when she had begged for a set of beads, he couldn’t deny her.
No one saw the girl disappear into the alley and the din on the street hid her screams well enough. Her blood had been thick and sweet and tasted heavily of Jack Daniel’s and the beads around her neck had been purple.
He would always remember the destruction and chaos but he never wanted to go back.
