It isn’t easy being on this ship, watching Kaylee day in and day out, wanting her so badly but telling myself I don’t have that right. But once in a while wanting Kaylee creeps inside and takes a hold of me. And I forget about all the reasons why I can’t have her.

Like tonight, I almost gave in to the temptation to make Kaylee mine. I was so close to kissing her, holding her, showing her how good we could be together. But the Shepherd interrupted us before anything could happen.

It took all my strength just to walk away. I have to keep telling myself ‘Don’t look back.’ Because if I do and she’s still standing there all pretty and wanting no power in this ‘verse will stop me from making her mine.

So I keep walking because to do anything else wouldn’t be proper. And God knows I’m nothing if not proper. -
