I’ve been the slayer since I was fifteen. In that time I’ve killed more than my share of vampires, demons and other creatures.

I’ve died, killed Angel and saved the world...a lot.

And I can’t count the number of times I’ve rescued the others. I’ve saved Dawn from herself; Willow from a demon inhabited robot with love issues and Xander from more female demons than any teenage boy wants to admit.

Although it wasn’t their calling my friends and watcher have also helped out, even Spike has been known to help occasionally. But in the end it’s always been me. My strength, power, and skill against the hordes of evil sent to destroy what I’m supposed to protect.

Now there’s this new threat and I’m told there’s nothing I can do. It’s not mystical, a demon, or anything remotely connected to my world. And it’s attacking the one person who means the most to me.

Mom.

And I can’t save her.

Now I have to put my faith in the doctors to do that for me and for a slayer that isn’t an easy thing to do.

Someone please wish me a monster to kill. -
