Prompt 102 Fic: Attack of the Eight-Foot Peanut
Title: Attack of the Eight-Foot Peanut

AN: Set once Faith and Giles have teamed up after “No Future for You.” ETA: Fourth in the Avengers Series, though each story can stand alone.
Faith stared up, mouth agape, axe hanging limply from her hand in shock. Shaking herself a little, she finally said, “It’s … it’s a giant freaking peanut, Giles! I know it’s been a couple of weeks since we’ve had a big kill, but we drove all the way down to Nowheresville, Georgia for a giant freaking peanut?”
“So it would seem.”
“Huh?”
Giles cleared his throat. “I believe that may not be the statue of a peanut but instead a … a Glasroth demon in its dormant cycle. The recent salmonella outbreak exactly mimics the symptoms of a thirteenth-century plague released before the rise of a Glasroth demon in central Europe.”
“And again I say huh? I may not have been all that into school, but seventh grade social studies went on and on about all the different food and crap that Columbus guy discovered here. There weren’t peanuts in Europe way back then.”
“Precisely! That Glasroth had situated itself near one of the largest grain mills in the region, and when it released its spores, they infected the flour, providing it with many dead victims ready to eat when it rose. Not recognizing its shape, locals thought it merely a strange boulder. I believe this one has taken advantage of its resemblance to a … a giant peanut and situated itself near a large peanut processing plant as a … er … monument of sorts.”
Shaking her head, Faith tightened her grip on her axe and looked up at the eight-foot long peanut/demon resting on top of the plinth. She threw a grin at Giles. “You know this is wicked crazy, right?”
“Perhaps.” He grinned back a bit ferally and swung his sword through the air in sharp arcs, whoosh, whoosh. “But I wouldn’t want to take that chance.”
AN: It turns out that GA has multiple giant peanut statues.
