Title: If Only She'd Ask

Rating: PG
Word Count: 247
Prompt: 136(cordy's houseparty She)
Characters/Pairing: Angel(Cordy/Angel implied)
I'm standing here, minding my own business, trying to do what I do best. Brood. As a matter of fact I would have a pretty good brood going if I could just be left alone. But I guess it's impossible to do that in the middle of a party.
I hate parties. Why I agreed to come I have no idea.
Out of the corner of my eye I see her and I can't help but stare. It's been a long time since I've seen her smile like this. She's happy, really happy. Then it hit me. That's why I agreed to come to the party. I would do anything to make Cordy happy.
Suddenly, a beautiful woman is asking me to dance. And for a moment I'm completely tempted. I'd love to be able to say yes. I would give almost anything to be able to take her in my arms and twirl her around the dance floor. If only I could dance more like Fred Astaire and less like Fred Flinstone trying to get jiggy with it.
But I can't.
For a brief moment I picture myself dancing and the look of horror I plainly see on the lady's face brings me back to my senses.
"I don't dance."
After the lady leaves, my attention is once again captured by Cordy. She's smiling, laughing and the thought crosses my mind that for her I would be willing to take dance lessons. If only she'd ask.
