Title: Christmas With Jenny
Author:
angelus2hot
Rating: PG
Word Count: 228
Prompt: 149(December 25th Christmas)
Characters/Pairing: Giles (Giles/Jenny implied)
He'd had so many plans for this Christmas and all of them involved Jenny. They were supposed to go last minute Christmas shopping together. Then back to his apartment to snuggle on the couch, have some tea and watch the lights dance on the diminutive tree that adorned his side table.
Early Christmas morning he would surprise her with breakfast in bed. After leisurely feeding each other bites off the tray, they would head downstairs to exchange gifts. She would be delighted in the pagan necklace that he'd found for her at an antique store. And he would adore whatever his gift was purely because she had got it for him. Even if he had to pretend.
But in all of his plans he hadn't counted on her not being with him. Instead of the wonderful things he'd planned he had spent his Christmas morning at her grave.
He spent the day telling her of all the things he had hoped and dreamed for them and never got to tell her. Finally as the sun began to set he softly whispered, "I miss you, Jenny. More than I knew I could."
With tears in his eyes, Giles placed the roses on the ground in front of the headstone and silently turned and walked away. It wasn’t the way he’d planned it but he’d still spent Christmas with Jenny.
