“Yeah, well, they all taste like chicken.” Spike, looked at Angel as he spoke and the two of them grinned. A rare moment of a shared joke moving between them.

Cordelia raised a brow and stared at both of them.

Their laughter faded into a cough and a little 'ahem' before they sheepishly apologized.

“Sorry Cordy,” Angel, of course was first.

Spike held out a little longer, “C'mon babe, you can't hold a little joke against me.” He tugged at her arm and pulled her down onto his lapHer stiff frame and silent treatment made him realize that maybe she could hold his joke against him.

He gave it one more shot. “Cordy, baby, it's just a fact, the chicken taste thing.”

“An 'ewwww' fact!” she pushed ineffectually against his chest before relaxing back against him with a mischievous smile painting her face.

“Fine if you want to talk about what all humans... taste like, then I'll just feel free to share the 'all vampires' things that I know.”

Spike snorted in disbelief. “Yeah, right.” He curled his fingers through the long strands of her dark hair.

Cordelia held out her hand and ticked off two things. “You all purr when you're in your happy sleepy place, and you all smell like dirt.”

Angel looked down at his hands and brushed off his outfit. “Dirt? I stink?”

“No... you don't stink. You smell like dirt. You know... earth... dirt. It's just something i've noticed about all vampires.” She stressed the 'all'.

Angel sighed, slightly relieved that he didn't offend.

A few seconds of silence passed before Spike spoke, his arms tightening around his girl. “Wait, wait, wait! How the bleedin' hell do you know that Angel purrs when he sleeps!?”
